The Cowboy Rides is honored to offer the art and music of Royal Wade Kimes, two-time recipient of the Academy of Western Artist’s Will Rogers Award and the 2005 Best Alternative Album by True West Magazine for his COWBOY COOL album (Wonderment Records). As taken from his website, he is "..One of country western music's emerging lights,…..in his textured and expressive voice shares the cowboy way through reality-driven glimpses of life, love, and the view atop a hard saddle." Mr. Kimes says it best about his own brand of music, "it's country and western with cowboy attitude. I don't write that tumbleweed stuff." Kimes "…is a real-life generational throwback to Ozark mountain bank bustin' bandits. He's been a ranch-hand for Loretta Lynn, is a product of the late, great Eddy Arnold, and counts Garth Brooks as a mate after collaborating with him on "We Bury the Hatchet" (Brooks’ ROPIN’ THE WIND, 1991) and recording the duet "Night Birds" (Kimes’ A DYIN' BREED, 2008) with him. While many wannabes around Nashville strut their stuff under a wide brim and a fat buckle, hoping to steal fame by singing about what they don't know, Kimes has no such pretense. This cowboy has sat tall in the saddle, seen the vastness of the range, roped and chased breakaway steers; he's ridden the trails, taken the falls, in the truest sense of the term, and survived. He's real. He's country." Giving the term "artist" a run for its money, Royal Wade is also a talented songwriter, composer, producer, singer, entertainer, and horse trainer. In his spare time, Royal Wade creates original artwork and fine jewelry pieces. Get to know the man by his wares; you’ll be glad you did. |
